Meet The CEO

Christy Ray Okoye Foundation is humanitarian initiative that came into existence over twenty years ago , at the instance of , and through the heart stirring and yearning of Ambassador Christy Ray Okoye , nee Ikeotuonye.
A woman of deep spiritual persuasion , Lady Christy known for her largesse , generosity of heart and philanthropy was inspired by the exemplary feats of the iconic Mother Theresa of Calcutta , India.
For over thirty years , Lady Christy has been a bastion of succor and help to the downtrodden in her local community.
Her name became synonymous with her strong identity and unmatched zeal for the empowerment of the less privileged in Ifite Dunu and environs.
Her voice was strident in speaking for and representing the interests of the voiceless .
So great was her drive and influence that in a nod to her excellent and unparalleled outreaches , the appellation ” Ojiefiemeogo was suffixed to her name.
“Ojiefiemeogo ” roughly translates as someone who gifts whole cows.
The gift of a cow in Igboland is a symbolic rarity , reserved for special occasions. But here comes Lady Christy in her own stratosphere of giving, shattering this long established custom.
Her driving force is the acute shortage of genuine philanthropists in a land , where presently many are bereft of meaningful help. In this regard , she is tireless in championing this cause which is close to her heart.
The Bible scripture in Matthew 9 : 37-“38 KJV that says ” The harvest is plenteous but the labourers are few ” resonates deeply in her heart. This is what gives wind to her philanthropic oars.
A recipient of many awards , Ambassador Christy Ray Okoye has been involved in several collaborative efforts with like-minded individuals and organizations over the years to alleviate the suffering widows.
As is the norm , this Easter season in commemoration of the redemptive suffering of Christ Jesus , Christy Ray Okoye Foundation (CROF) is aligning with WOMEN ALIGNED FOR GROWTH (WAG) and WACIN to celebrate the vulnerable women in our society.
